Privacy notice
In short: this site sets no cookies of its own and does no tracking. If you send us a message, we use it only to reply and to act on it.
Last updated 20 October 2026. In this notice, “we” means Digital Doctrine Ltd, which makes remitdesk. We are the controller (the organisation that decides how your data is used) of the personal data described here.
Who we are
Digital Doctrine Ltd is registered in England and Wales, company number 12192787. Registered office: 3 Anderson Court, Newnham Road, Cambridge, CB3 9EZ. To reach us, use our contact form or write to us at our registered office: Digital Doctrine Ltd, 3 Anderson Court, Newnham Road, Cambridge, CB3 9EZ.
This website
This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics. Only the contact page runs any code: Cloudflare’s spam check, described below, which may set cookies of Cloudflare’s.
Cloudflare hosts the site for us. To deliver and protect it, Cloudflare processes request data, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (a reason the law accepts, weighed against your own interests): here, running a secure website. The data is kept only as long as Cloudflare needs it to do that. Cloudflare may process it outside the United Kingdom (UK).
If you use our contact form
The form asks for your name, your email address, what your message is about, and the message. When you send it, we add the time and your browser’s description of itself (its user agent), and Cloudflare delivers it all to us by email. Cloudflare keeps a record of each delivery, and may keep a copy of the email for about seven days so that we can check it arrived; it does not say how long it keeps the delivery record.
We use your message only to reply and to act on what you tell us. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: here, answering people who write to us. We keep your message for as long as we need to deal with it, then delete it.
Using the form is up to you; nothing requires it. You can write to us at our registered office: Digital Doctrine Ltd, 3 Anderson Court, Newnham Road, Cambridge, CB3 9EZ.
We use Google Workspace for email, so Google holds your message for us and may store it outside the UK.
The spam check on the contact page
To keep the form free of automated spam, the contact page uses Cloudflare Turnstile. It runs in a frame from challenges.cloudflare.com and looks at signals from your browser and device to tell people from programs. It may ask you to tick a box.
Cloudflare says those signals are your IP address, a fingerprint of your browser’s encrypted connection, your browser’s user agent, and this site’s key and address. It says it uses them to detect and block bots, not to identify, profile or target anyone. It handles them for us to run the check, and also for itself, to improve its bot detection. Cloudflare’s Turnstile privacy addendum, at cloudflare.com/turnstile-privacy-policy, does not say how long it keeps them.
The addendum names no specific cookies. It says the signals are strictly necessary to detect and block bots, and points to Cloudflare’s cookie policy, which lists cookies for its challenges, such as cf_clearance, as strictly necessary, and says Cloudflare may place bot-detection cookies when you use its customers’ sites. Any cookie the check sets is Cloudflare’s, set by its frame for challenges.cloudflare.com; this site cannot read it or set it.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: here, stopping automated spam. No other page loads Turnstile.
Data outside the UK
In short: your data may be handled in other countries, but the law still protects it.
When Cloudflare or Google handle data outside the UK, it is protected by one of two safeguards that UK law recognises. One is the UK’s data bridge with the United States (a UK government decision that data sent to certified firms there is protected). The other is the International Data Transfer Addendum (the UK’s approved terms added to the European Union’s standard contract clauses for sending data abroad). For a copy, use our contact form or write to us at our registered office: Digital Doctrine Ltd, 3 Anderson Court, Newnham Road, Cambridge, CB3 9EZ.
Emails from a firm using remitdesk
The emails you receive from a firm that uses remitdesk are that firm’s to explain. Ask them for their privacy notice.

To ask, use our contact form or write to us at our registered office: Digital Doctrine Ltd, 3 Anderson Court, Newnham Road, Cambridge, CB3 9EZ.
You can object at any time to our using your data on the basis of legitimate interests. To object, use our contact form or write to us at our registered office: Digital Doctrine Ltd, 3 Anderson Court, Newnham Road, Cambridge, CB3 9EZ.
